I. Project Background

This enterprise is an important base in China that integrates the research, manufacturing and testing of large-scale power transmission and distribution equipment. In recent years, research and application of new energy access technology and distributed microgrid technology have been carried out. It shoulders the responsibility of promoting technological innovation in China's power transmission and distribution equipment and providing key equipment for national key projects such as the "Three Gorges Project" and "West-to-East Power Transmission", offering a strong guarantee for the sustainable development of China's economy and people's livelihood.

During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, information systems such as CAD, PLM and ERP were successively built, covering all fields of design and production. To deepen application, achieve the full-process integration of scientific research and production data, standardize and integrate the management of enterprise basic data, promote the interconnection and interoperability among information systems, and the application of emerging technologies such as big data.

Ii. Problems and Challenges

1. Data resources lack identification and planning, data standards, methods and systems lack management, and data assets are difficult to mine and iteratively optimize.

2. Data is scattered and diverse, with a lack of uniformity and integrity in encoding and attributes, making cross-system sharing and data exchange difficult.

3. As the core data of manufacturing enterprises, BOM presents diverse and differentiated process, material and resource data in different business systems.

4.BOM presents multiple perspectives, structures and versions at different stages. How to ensure the consistency and timeliness of data during the conversion between Boms is quite challenging.

5. How to integrate, query, analyze, statistically analyze and provide decision support for scattered BOM data.

Iii. Solutions

1. Master data planning: Clearly define which master data to manage and which data issues to solve.

2. Data Standards: Define standards from three aspects: data standards, integration, and organizational processes.

3. Initialization and database construction: Standardize historical data and carry out master data management activities based on the standard master database.

4. Master data lifecycle management: Manage the addition, modification, and maintenance of master data, confirm the review of data, and complete the management of data version and status.

5. Integrated sharing enables centralized management and shared utilization of data. Integration and sharing include the content of BOM integration. The core task of BOM integration is to solve the problem of data consistency between the design end and the manufacturing end.

6.BOM Conversion: During the process of converting the design BOM into the manufacturing BOM, if there are conversion rules in place, it can be directly transitioned from manual conversion to automatic system conversion.

7.BOM data analysis and statistics, decision support: Convert business data models into analysable data models to facilitate the reorganization of data based on analysis indicators and dimensions, thereby enabling the rapid and flexible generation of various reports.

Iv. Application Value

It has standardized the data management of business owners, connected the data interaction between the design end and the production end, and solved many problems in customer data management. Achieve the following effects:

The data assets have been initially formed, and the relevant standards and management norms for data have been initially established and implemented. A data management team has been initially established, and the management of 12 types of core master data and data sharing and exchange have been achieved.

2. A service-oriented information integration architecture based on data resources has been initially formed. Point-to-point integration transformation has been completed, effectively reducing system integration costs by over 300,000 yuan and increasing data integration efficiency by three times.

3. Define the master data management process to achieve process-driven data control, reducing data quality issues by 96%.
